Is Ebay Dead?

I have almost 1500 feedback on ebay. I have done really well there. Since last year ebay has changed so much. Everything goes pretty much dirt cheap on there now if it sells at all. And the fees are now outrageous. I think alot of people are selling stolen items because they are selling them less than I could ever get some of them wholesale. How?????? It must be stolen. that is my theory. It hurts the people who want to make an honest living. I rarely sell on there any more. ebay now offers me 100 free listings a month with any start price so I do on occasion list things because it is no loss for me but I don't list it to start so low I would lose money. Doesn't make sense.

I used to sell on ebay all the time, then even the views stopped. So I stopped listing...until recently. I decided to list my bottle cap images, just for the heck of it (free listings for auction style listings $.99 and under)...well my listings are ending in an hour...I've sold all but 2 and several have multiple bids.

So I guess it's just what we're selling.

thats awesome. I wish ebay didn't change so much. I think we should start our own auction site. I wish I knew how.

I hate how much they keep changing. And the constant low-balling of products is insane!

The easy part would actually be creating the new website, the hard part, competing with ebay and their mass audience. LOL

Ever since sellers are not allowed to leave negative/neutral feedback, coupled with an outrageous, many sellers have closed their shops on Ebay and moved elsewhere. Less sellers, so attract less buyers.

I used to purchase clothes on eBay from last many years. Besides, I never faced any problem with it. Most of the people always prefer this site for online purchasing. So I don't think eBay would be dead near future.

I was selling clothes that I made on ebay a year ago or so, and it just wasn't worth it. I could hardly get back the cost of the fabric, and I couldn't compete with the ladies that had already established stores.
I will try selling books on there, but not clothing or bows.

Oh my gosh polkadots I JUST noticed this!

Not being able to leave negative or neutral IS outrageous. People seem to leave negative and neutral ratings for the STUPIDEST reasons. Like "I paid for cheap ground shipping that takes 2-4 weeks and I was unsatisfied because it took two weeks" I just end up banning people from my store.. What if someone doesn't pay, shouldn't you be able to leave a negative rating? Or a Neutral rating? "Buyer does not communicate/pay, etc.." 95% of my sales are to the USA, I'm in Canada, no one has EVER paid extra for Air Shipping for an additional $3, which takes 4-6 days instead of 2-4 weeks, but they complain about the shipping option they have chosen? If I want an item located anywhere, faster, I pay more for shipping, If I don't care waiting a few weeks, I select the cheapest shipping option.

I dont think so because I have made plenty of purchases through Ebay and I love to buy through this.
