not sure if you knew this, or maybe i'm wrong, but the one who started this thread (ambiestutucreations) is not the maker of these bows--so it's not that she was posting her listing here and telling us to look at and many of us poking fun, but this is how i look at it--for me personally--you will not see me sell or even attempt to sell bows much less create instructions on how to make bows if i am just starting out or haven't been doing it for at least a year--no matter how good i may think they are, i have standards and i wouldn't want my name on something that looked half ass made or not even of good quality or put together w/out much thought. i've seen far too many that have done that and just shake my head in annoyance because I feel that those who haven't done it for long are the ones who take the sales from those far more experienced, but I do shop around and compare.
Look at this post:

"wow..she sure did put alot of effort into that listing. if someone buys its cause they feel sorry for her. i think that was the sorryest listing for bows i have seen yet!"

and jazzygirl you just made her comment true by saying if you didn't make bows yourself you would buy from her just for trying?--why? why would you spend that much money on a bow that wasn't of quality? might as well just give her your money and say "keep the bow, just keep on trying"

i'm not trying to start something before many of you attack me--i really am nice, so anyone pls. correct me if i was wrong in assuming that this thread was started to poke fun or point out a waaaay overpriced bow.

Okay I never post on these type of things, because I would rather keep my mouth shut, but I think this is kinda mean. What I see is maybe a struggling mom taking up a new way to help make ends meet (I don't know). Sure the bow is not perfect, but it is not horrible either. She just needed to make better color choices, but that bow was only an example (maybe a poor one, but still it is her choice). I understand that if you want to be taken serious you have to put your best effort into the bow. However, I don't think that we should degrade each other even if we hate their work. Sometimes people need a reality check, but there are always a better way of doing it than to put them on a blog and laugh at them.

I agree. Her bows look alot better than mine did when I first started out. And while I don't sell online, I have had customer pay alot more for bows that look about like that. I actually don't think it is that bad. She has mastered the boutique fold. That;s more than alot of people can do. You don't know what the situation is.
As for the price, how is $7.50 too much for a double layer bow? My double layer bows start at $8 for a 3 inch one with 7/8 ribbon. ?????

For one how can u sit here and say im not the maker of these bows. I made them for my dd to wear to her sisters graduation tomorrow so maybe you should say... she isnt the make of these bows when u have no clue what your talking about... and if you going by my id its bc i listed in on my reg ebay ID... I don't have an ebay shop I just listed it to see if I would have some luck. And if you go back and look at my threads I have been making bows for over a year. And my sorry if none of you like my bows. I have enough customers... I don't need you poking fun at me bc my listing wasnt all fancy. I didnt think posting here would end up you all laughing at me... Im sorry i though this was for support and what not. You all could have said things i could have done differently not laughed... SO honestly im sorry i even shared in the first place... I guess it will teach me to share next time!

I'm walking away from this thread--like i said i wasn't trying to start something--i said correct me if i was wrong, apparently i was wrong for taking your thread the wrong way and it appears that other people had thought the same thing too, geez, how can people be honest or themselves anymore on here w/out feeling attacked for giving an honest opinion?
---do want to apologize for sounding a bit harsh and poking fun at your bows--i do apologize, I really was stating my own opinion, not using just you as an example

Ok, first of all i wasn't poking fun at your bows or your listing! When i read the post i thought you were poking fun at somebody elses listing and i couldn't see what the joke was plus i thought it was a bit on the mean side I have never made a bow (although i have been trying with a little bit of ribbon for about a week!) and i have never listed anything on ebay. Then somebody else commented on your listing and i went back to look and i thought then that the joke was that the auction was that the auction was starting at 99c and that the BIN price was $7 or something like that. To me your bows are gorgeous and they look like they were made by the hands of an expert. I think you'll find that your customers will think the same so why do you give a crap what anyone on here thinks of them Well done you! I only make clippies and headbands and i've been trying out woven headbands and flip flops but i'm a LONG way away from making anything artistic.

I'm so sorry that you had to read this crap and i hope it hasn't put a dent in your confidence cos your work is great to me and plenty of others on here and i doubt anyone would pay $7 to buy your bows out of sympathy! I think that your bows are every bit and bar as good as any i have seen on here. I just had to say that!

Your bows are great. I'll bet if you use some more universal colors (like pink/black or turquoise/brown) and list on Etsy, you'll make some sales. Etsy listing fees are cheaper than Ebay's too. Sometimes people are rude just to discourage the competition. Just let it roll off your back & keep on making bows
