~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ anyone have instructions for the absolute basics of crocheting? I would like to try it but haven't ever.... it just looks so complicated! Is it worth trying out for someone like me who's never done it?
Hi
Here is a great site: Crochet Pattern Central - Free, Online Crochet Stitch Directory I learned via a class at "the tall mouse". They also have them at "Michael's" and "joanns". There are some utube videos, and crocheting for dummies books Good luck |
I looked up one, but the woman was going 75 mph and I gave up! lol I'll look again, though.
okie, so I've got the single chain down (like a 4 year old couldn't do it! lol) Now, I'm totally confused by the rest!
Now you just start learning the other stitches. Single crochet is the simplest. Start with a long chain. Skip the chain closest to your hook and insert your hook into the loops of the second one. Once you have it through the loops, pull a loop of yarn through. now you have two loops on your hook. Catch your yarn again with your hook and draw the strand through both loops. That's all there is to it. Continue all the way to the end of your chain and if you want to keep going just turn your work and start on the top of the row you just made.
