Yeah I think your right Judy, it's been awhile . Do you know how to do the rose? I'm going to try this and see if I can get a pattern too.

This is what I came up with. I followed the pattern I posted above (except just with one strand of yarn and I added another row of double crochet because my hook was smaller) and after the row of single crochets I did 5 double crochets in one stitch, skip a stitch, one single crochet, skip another stitch and then 5 double crochets in the next stitch. The I did a row of single crochets to finish it off. I think it would look much better with the contrasting colors. Also, I have a pattern to make a rose, but it's at my parents house so it will be a few weeks before I can get it.
