Default Crochet Flowers yarn?

I am going to make crochet flowers for a friend that sells hair clips. I am wondering what is the best type of yarn to use? (crochet thread vs sugar and cream yarn, simply soft vs basic yarn, etc.) Thanks for your advice in advance

I love all cotton. What size flowers are you making?

My personal preference for flowers used on clippies is cotton.

I like Simply Soft or Cotton. Red Heart just seems too rough for my taste. I rarely even use it.

I LOVE simply soft but also use a lot of cotton. I don't use red heart at all as it seems stiff and scratchy to me too

well if your making the small ones then i'd use the crochet thread and if your doing the larger ones it all depends on what you like to crochet with, i love the "i love this yarn" brand from hobby lobby and bernat cotton tots. both are very soft!!

I LOVE love this yarn from Hobby Lobby. I hadn't paid attention to their yarn, and one day I picked up one to compare colors, and couldn't believe how nice it was!

And you can't beat the huge amount for such a low price!!! I had forgotten all about that yarn!! I LOVE it! It's very similar to Simply Soft.

Thank you ladies for all of your suggestions. I am trying to make 2 1/2 inch flowers for her and I am having trouble achieving that size flower. If I use crochet thread the flowers are 1 inch to 1 3/4 inch but I love the way they look. I have tried lily's sugar and cream but I am not as pleased with the overall look of the flowers. The yarn almost seems too thick. A Hobby Lobby just opened in our area 1 1/2 weeks ago so I will run down there to check out the "I love this yarn" that you mentioned. Thanks
