Default help for new crocheting

Can anyone help me find good resources to teach myself how to crochet? I would love to make my girls beanies for Christmas.

You Tube helped me alot! You have to find someone on there that you can follow well, there are quite a few tutorials on there that are very specific. A couple of the people that I follow really well are mikeyssmail (he is my favorite) and tjw1963. It is easiest to find them if you just go to youtube and in the search box type crochet and then there name that I typed above.

Hope this helps!

Try searching in your area for classes ... once you get the basics you can follow any pattern.

Good luck

I had learned a lot of the basics from my Grandma when I was little.....But when I actually wanted to make some things for my kids, I couldn't really remember any of it, and found some awesome videos on youtube.

There's also a book called "I taught myself to crochet" I've been crocheting since I was 15, but picked up the knitting book.

Here's a link

I learned from Teresa's videos as well. I was clueless to crochet and am proud self-thaught crocheter.. =) Being totally newbie, it took me about a month to learn how to crochet and "read" patterns (thank you YouTube!)... Pattern were like totally an alien language to me back then (last year, actually).

Desire & determination to master and learn, those are the keys. If a newbie like me can do it, you can do it too. =)

Good luck and again, I totally recommend Teresa's...
