OK, so I know how to crochet - basically

But when you guys are talking about crocheting the first chain ONTO the ponytail holder, well, I just have no idea how one would do that. Can someone explain please?

Ok, here is my attempt to explain. you have your hook through your starter loop, then go under the pony O and hook yarn, pull the yarn under and through your starter loop. Does that make any sense??

So....it's like you pretend the ponytail holder is the first row of crochet you're chaining onto?

Yep! I agree. It's kinda weird to start..but when you get the hang of it- it goes super fast.

I was wondering what yarn you guys were using for this? I bought some really cute yarn and taught myself how to chrochet the chain stich but the yarn I bought I wasn't so sure abut. Also how many rows do you do around the pny tail holder?
Thanks,
Lana

i have been using any type of fun fur. my favourite are the ones with the bobbles in them

i do two rows.

if you do a quick google, there are lots of crochet scrunchie patterns out there to use with regular yarn too.

What size crochet hook do you use? I have not crocheted in years but I *think* I could do this but when I went to buy a hook I was overwhelemed by all the different sizes. Any idea what sizes work well? Thanks.
