Default What type of yarn is this?

Hey guys, need some help here. I've been asked to try and make one of these hats but can't figure out what yarn is being used! I've been to HL & Michaels - the only thing I can find that's anywhere near it is HL Riot Eyelash in Sealeaves (but of course I can't find an eyelash hat pattern anywhere!). I tried and tried the other night (6 hours of crocheting/pulling it all out again/cussing quietly so the kids don't hear me) to come up with something and my brain just turned off. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Here's my first try

http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/...n-yarn-440248/

http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/...r-yarn-121780/
But I think it may be a mix of that yarn and another thicker yarn. Im going to see if I can find some more.

Thanks for checking - I looked at both of those as well. Unless it's some type of handspun I was thinking it might be 2 different yarns too. I went prowling around Joann's today trying to find a fingering weight to match the Riot Eyelash that I already bought ($8 for yarn - the pain, the pain!). I'm STILL waiting on the Etsy pattern I bought on the 16th (sent 2 convos & an email and still nothing!!!!). We'll see what happens.

Hmm did they have a link to a facebook page? I'd check it out for activity if they did. I believe it's two types of yarn too. I'm thinking the second is that yarn that comes braided. It's expensive but would do the trick. I've seen the patterns for the photography prop fringe baby blanket that looks the same. Maybe find a free pattern that will at least say what type of yarn that is.

I think it is called fringe yarn. I saw some at JoAnn's and used it to make eyelashes on my wrapped styrofoam heads.

Ok, here's what I can up with. I used Hobby Lobby's Riot Eyelash in Sealeaves and a dark green Boucle yarn I happened to have at the house (forgot I had it until after 3 trips to the yarn store!). Pictures aren't the best but let me know what you think.

Thanks guys! I had it on a stand in the den so I could judge the placement/fringe length & my 11 yro daughter made me turn it around - she said he was staring at her & it was freaking her out!

Now I just need to get paid for this!!!
