If it's crochet I can't help. If it's sewing I might can...

I'm not home now but tomorrow I will try to work this pattern. Sometimes I have to actually do and redo until I get it right. Do you have a picture of what it is. That helps me sometimes too. I will let you know if I can explain it easier after I pull out my yarn and hook tomorrow. Hope I can help you.

You have to know how to do the stitches in order to complete the pattern. Where exactly are you stuck?

You will be working around in a continuous circle (round.) That's what is meant by "do not turn." The chain and slip stitch help you complete one circle and move on to the next one. You will be starting with a small circle at the crown of the hat and adding stitches as you work each one to follow. That makes the hat fit the child's head and forms a pattern.

Anything that has * * around it is to be repeated. The number of times you repeat will be right after the second *.

I'm working the pattern right now. I found an error in round 1. You need to dc 12 instead of 11 in order to get the 24 in round 2.

Work in a continuous circle. Don't turn your work.

Here's the plainest terms I can give you:

chain 3
Round 1: 12 double crochet in 3rd chain from hook. Slip stitch to top of beginning chain. Do not turn. (12 double crochet made)

Round 2: chain 2 (does not count as a double crochet). 2 double crochet stitches in each stitch all the way around (24 double crochets total)

Round 3: chain 2, double crochet in 1st double crochet, 2 double crochet in next stitch. continue this (1:2) pattern all the way around. Slip stitch to top of 1st double crochet (36 double crochets made)

Round 4: chain 2, 2 double crochet in first stitch, 1 double crochet in next 2 stitches. continue this pattern all the way around (2:1:1) slip stitch to the top of the first double crochet (48 double crochets made)

Round 5: chain 2. 1 double crochet in first 3 stitches, 2 double crochet in next stitch. Continue this pattern around (1:1:1:2) (60 double crochet made)

Rounds 6-12: chain 2. double crochet in each stitch around. Slip stitch in top of 1st double crochet (60 double crochet made for each round)

Rounds 13-17: chain 1. single crochet in each stitch around. Slip stitch in top of 1st single crochet. (60 single crochet made for each round).

Fasten off to complete.

HTH I'm on rounds 6-12 right now, I'll let you know if I come up with anything else.

Aw man!

It looks like you just published someone elses pattern-one she is trying to sell on etsy. That's really not cool.

If I'm wrong, and you found this pattern online for FREE, than forgive me.

I thought that too, but really..it's a basic beanie pattern. They're all over the place.
