Well, I had my first craft show this past weekend. It was a one day event. It was pretty much what I expected. This was "Ohio's largest garage sale, flea market and craft fair" So I concentrated on the smaller stuff with a few other items. I'm REALLY glad because I sold a bunch of itty bitty clippies, butterflies, lady bugs. It was $25 for an inside space (this was held at the local fairgrounds) 10x20 booth size. I ended up making $170 for the day. So not bad, plus I took a few custom orders. I offered free shipping for any pre-paid custom order. I didn't sell one headband and none of the bracelets my mom and grandma made. I only sold one of the school color bows too.
I think the best part of the day was my first customers. I had made a sale on etsy last week for a local woman, she had gotten my info from my MIL's hair dresser. She bought several items. When I mailed her items I included my card with the craft fair info. They drove an HOUR just to come and see me!! They had no desire to browse the garage sale junk. Woowoo!! They spent another $30 between them both.
Overall, I'm glad I did the show, I had one of the nicer set ups, there was 1 other girl selling bows. She sells korkers at a store in town, she mainly uses 1/4" and the korkers look more like a waterfal effect than a snowball. Nice work though. I plan to do a few more small fairs this summer before the big craft show season of the fall starts up.
