I am sorry it didn't go well.
My first show was a bust too. I didn't even make my table rental back and it was only $25...
I agree with Rene... Make up a list of questions to ask the organizer based on what you noticed didn't work with this show.
Also, chat with your neighbors at each show to find out where they have been successful and what has worked for them.

I see every show as a learning experience...
Don't give up, you will find the right place..

I definitely know that it wasn't my stuff, it was just that the right people weren't there. The people who did actually come to look loved the stuff, but had nobody to buy it for because as I said, it was mostly seniors. The table was only $29, but I still didn't even make enough to pay for it. One of the people who bought stuff was a friend of mine. Her little girl was showing her all the things she loved, so she was told that they know where I like and can get some anytime. LOL

I am very grateful that my husband does take at least a little bit of an interest and was willing to help me. He even used his cellphone to change his Facebook status to tell people to come. It didn't work, but I thought it was cute that he did that. Something that was good about it was all the time we got to spend talking today. We're always so busy with kids being around that we really don't get much time to talk. After we were done we took the $25 we made and took Chloe to a little fair that was in the A&P parking lot. It was the first time on the rides, and she just loved it.

The only thing now is that I have a LOT of stuff to sell! I never hear about any craft shows around here, except at Christmas.

Now we're just wishing for bedtime. We only got a few hours sleep last night. Hubby is falling asleep on the couch, and we still have two hours until Chloe goes to bed! lol

We have a saying at the school where I teach and it is "It's all good." We use that one all the time when we need a little me pick up (kids or adults!) Maybe you could get in touch with some of the chambers for the towns around you and see if they have anything planned. Also try going to different city or townships website homepages and looking there under events or something. They might have some more spring/early summer craft shows planned. You know we all get caught up in the stresses and worries of day to day life, I am glad that you and your dh had time to enjoy each others' company. God always takes care of us.

BTW did you use the cash register?

I agree with everyone- now you know to not go to that one next year. I have gone to 2 shows that were complete flops. Sorry it happened to you- but now you have a great inventory!

Nope, Dh wouldn't let me because of the noise. I told him today that I shouldn't have listened to him as it might have drawn people over. lol

That's what I was saying to my mom. I have been working non-stop on this stuff, so now I can relax and get back to making fun things when I feel like it.

Oh my gosh! this made me laugh so much. I just had this image of the sausage man raking in the cash (From senior citizens), and the dumb clown with the balloons. TOO FUNNY.

I'll have a drink (for you) to lament your first show. But quality time with the hubby is awesome!! And the experience, and now you have stuff in stock. Which is kinda nice.

Well the balloon thing actually was funny the FIRST time. The balloon was flying all over the plce. Then I could hear kids laughing and then balloons squealed for at least an hour, then off and on the whole time. I've got a funny sausage story. We were just sitting there talking when this older guy walks by pushing a stroller. I'm guessing it was probably the babies grandpa. Anyways, he had the hugest sausage I have ever seen in the canopy of the stroller. Everybody was walking around eating sausages too. This one woman came over to my booth eating one and picked up a tutu! The funny thing is, after smelling them all day and watching everyone eating them we HAD to get one on the way out. lol Oh, and the huge sausage that was on the stroller was $25!!!

Oh, there was this older woman doing face painting. She had a sun visor on that had a huge paint pallete on the front. Seriously huge. I thought I was going to die laughing. She did do a gorgeous job on the painting though!
