I'm not a craft show person...

I had a craft show yesterday, and then again today (I'm getting ready to leave in a few minutes). Yesterday I was set up by 9 a.m. and I finally closed up shop at 4:30. I made $65. But by the time I took out booth rental fees, and lunch for me, DH, SIL and her son and my daughter, my profit was $9. LOL! I closed early, before anyone else because I couldn't handle being there anymore. There were a LOT of people there- one of the planners of the festival said he estimated about 5,000 there, but none of them were buying hair bows. There weren't any parents with kids that were buying, and if I saw a young couple with them, you could tell they weren't the type to be bothered to put bows in their daughters hair. LOL And if they would stop at my booth, the would ask the price, and freak. And trust me, I was NOT over priced- $3 for a 3 inch solid color bow, $1 for infant clips, $5 for woven headbands, $3 for bees and ladybugs. No one wanted to fork out the money.

The guy said there should be about 10,000 there today, so I'm going to give it another try. But I'm not holding my breath.

Awww!! It does get frustrating at the craft shows when no one is buying. And I know you saw this too- everyone was spending a fortune on food too!! Ohhhh that's a peeve of mine!! (but in reality.. my husband and I would love to open a BBQ buisness..lol)

That is the very reason I haven't done a craft show yet! I KNOW that would happen to me! I really hope you have a better day, let us know what happens today.

Hope everyone was shelling out there bucks for some bees.

It gets discouraging, sometimes you just have to enjoy the time your there, and forget the money I know it's sounds stupid, but it helps me.

Well, I did worse today than I did yesterday. LOL! Oh well, no biggy. At least I'm well stocked for all of my consignment sales.

I think I was out there 4 hours today before I couldn't handle it anymore. I made $15. I also found out today someone else was set up selling bows and things. I had one lady tell me she wished she wouold have found me first, because mine looked better. It's okay though, we still enjoyed going down there.

Yeah, WE spent a fortune on food. LOL! Dh and I love that type of food. We had corn dogs, polish sausage, gyros, lemon shakeups, funnel cakes and elephant ears. So we would have been down there eating anyway. At least this way, we ate for free.
