~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Today my husband is going to sign me up for a craft show that's in 3 1/2 weeks. I have no idea what I should make or how much I should do! Also, I was thinking of ordering some ribbon. Any suggestions on colours I should have?
pink, pink and more pink. And maybe some purple... lol.
It seems to me that smaller bows sell better. I think people may think big bows are too over the top- they really need to see it on their child's head to get a good idea about how big it is. What stores are popular in your area for kids? (Gymboree, Old Navy, Children's Place, etc.) See what their summer lines are and go from there. I don't think that they need to perfectly coordinate, but I think people like to buy a bow knowing that they can use it for multiple outfits so they are making a "smart" purchase.
I need to work on my loopy bows
For me (my show is May 3rd) I am going to make ALOT of the clippies (no one makes them here but me) and then some of the larger more detailed bows. There is a boutique in town that makes the 3 and 4 in bows- so those are more readily available. Ya know? They want to buy things they can't get all the time. Also- I agree with the pink! I have had requests for the brown and black and white too.
i sold alot of light pink.pink.brown.black and white, some reds and some zebra and camo prints, i had some requests for more camo and zebra ones
Thanks for the help so far. I don't make big bows, but I don't think anyone would buy them around here. Large bows don't seem to be "in" here in Canada. So, the biggest I would do is probably pinwheels in 5/8" and 7/8". I will also do plain ribbon clippies, bar bows, and some character clippies. I'm also doing some tutus and wands. I think the sale is only 5 hours. It's also a garage sale. How much stuff should I make? Are there any suggestions for which characters? I think ladybugs would do well, but what else? Oh, we have Old Navy and TCP. There is a Gap here as well, but it's not as popular since it's more expensive.
Ok, I've been to the Children's Place website, plus I have bought a lot of stuff at Old Navy for Chloe and this is what I've come up with: pink, shocking pink, mystic blue, yellow, red, orange, black, white, blue, mint, maize, dark royal and apple green. Does that sound right at all?
Can I see a pic of one? With 2.25 ribbon I think that you should be charging more.
