~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
for those who have done a fair before, i do mine on Saturday and am totalllly nervous about it all, but anyhow,
how many bows do you try to make to have there to sell?
About how much is not enough or to little, i think i have a pretty good amount of both alligator, french clips, headbands and infant headbands plus i am having a couple of dresses only and i think i have enough to cover a pretty good size table, is that enough or should i get to making more?
another question about business cards, i had wanted to get some done but moneys tight so i wasn't able to, i have made bow cards and put my info on there, but don't have bow cards for everything, mainly just the smaller items like the clippies, is there any other way that wouldn't look silly that i could get my info on and get it out there to people that may walk by or whatever??? since i don't have the business cards?
Default Re: Fair Question,
I do fairs and festivals as we don't have craft shows in the country. The last one day festival that I did, I had almost 250 bows, pony-o's, headbands, etc. In my experiance, mostly alligator clips sell. And double the amount of white, and brown bows for each size. They always sell for me really quick!! I do a few french clips for each size bow that I make. I only brought home 22 bows. And I made custom bows there and took orders. I had an 8 foot table and a 6 foot table covered. I only do the fairs and festivals as a way to get my name around as a bowmaker in my area, so to me business cards are a MUST. You can get them from Vistaprint for shipping cost only, like $8 for 250 of them. Also, I use their matching post cards for bow cards. I would suggest trying to get some business cards from them before your fair. HTH!
Good Luck!! Let us know how you do!!!!
We are like you are with the money being tight, but I feel business cards are a necessity. You won't likely have them in time for the fair this weekend from Vista; however, they are a really good resource for later. What I have done is to go to staples/walmart and get the blank business cards from Avery and printed my own. It is much more cost efficient and quick when you are in a bind. HTH. Good luck at your fair!!
If you can make your own bow cards, then you should be able to make your own business cards too! When I first made mine I just used one of the business card options under the labels tool in Microsoft Word. Even though I wasn't using official business card paper (I don't like how they look all perforated on the edges) and just regular 'ol white cardstock it worked great for getting them all the right size. Then I have a mini paper cutter thingy for scrapbooking that I used to cut them out. I was able to cut straight lines and get them the right size.
Good luck at your fair!
Wal-mart has business card paper. I use that and also I have a create-a-card cd that allows me to add clip art and what not to my cards. I think you can get one of these cd's at walmart as well for a reasonable price. Money is tight with us too so I know how that is.
I also use blank index cards from walmart you can find it in the school supplies. They also have in the dept where you buy paper for your printer some post card paper. You can use the same create-a-card cd to match up your bow cards with your business cards.
It is very simple to do and pretty cheap.
i might try and go buy some business card paper though at walmart and see what i can come up with, heck i think anything would do at this point in time!!!!
I agree with the girls. Since time is not on your side to go with Vista, here's what you can do:
- WM has this 2 types of business cards ->Cards quality is great!
1) Matte White
2) Matte Ivory
Next, Make sure your printer has INK!..lol.. If you print out with ink-barely-there, then the end result is gonna look *lame*, regardless.. =) While you're at WM, grab your pink as well, right?
At home now To-DO List:
1) Click Here to go to Avery Site
2) Click on Design and Print Online
3) Select New Project
4) Fill In Your Infos, click Continue
5) Select Business Card
6) Select the template number 27881
7) Select Design/Layout
8) Personalize away... You can also upload your own image unto it.
hth =)
I don't know what your 'logo' is - but if you don't have anything specific - then just make something up! Meaning - so you scrapbook? Do you have 'punches'?
Print up your info on paper, and then 'punch' it out - even a basic circle or square would be fine. Glue it to colored cardstock - and add ribbon. Or make it look like a luggage tag. Even though it's not a 'real' business card - it would be really cute and different.
You can always have a sign up for 'more information when new products are relased' and then you can email people with your website.
Good luck!
