~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So I want to try and sell the bows that I have had since I started because I don't think they are that cute anymore! My next bow party is Thursday and I was thinking of making a basket with all those bows. Do you think half off the original would be too little? Also, what would I call them? Like when people ask why they are half off??
At my Expo I had a 'Bargain Basket' that was $3 on Sat, $2 on Sunday. Part of me wishes I would have marked them at $1.
For me, this stuff is just taking up space and I'd rather 'break even' or make very little, just to move it out. That way I can have stuff that I'll really use/sell. If you have an online store, maybe that can be a *free* with purchase item - or if they purchase a certain amount. Another idea, is if you really want to 'get rid' of them, maybe use those to make a BIG basket for a drawing or something. So if they purchase a certain amount they can 'win' it. I like the names 'last chance' and 'inventory reduction' that people suggested. Those sound good, without 'giving away' what you're intentions are. ![]() |
I do that and just call it my Sale Basket. I decorated it all cute with a couple of bows tied on the side from old (but cute) ribbon and hanging from those are little signs that say 'Sale Basket.'
How much you mark them down depends on how much you want to get rid of them. Mine were all different prices. Some things I REALLY didn't like got marked $1.50 (still covered the supplies), most were $2.50, and a few nicer things were still $4-5. You do it how *you* want it - it's a great way to get rid of old stuff. Right now my basket's empty - just how I like it!
At tons of parties I have been to ( not bow parties) they sell squares on a matrix for $1.00 for a chance at certain prizes. etc. Maybe you could make your squares a 50 cents each and then people might buy several. You could draw 5 or so squares at the end of the party and people would have a chance at winning a bow for very little. Sometimes it just makes it fun. You make a little on your bows and add some fun into the party.
Just another idea. Leslie |
Oh I like 'Last chance' sounds like you aren't going to ever make those patterns/ color combos again so you better snatch them up fast!
