~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So I talked to the person that organizes the craft show I am going to be in and she said they are 2 other people in the show that will have hair bows. One of them will have mostly baby items and the other the same stuff I plan on having, hairbows, clippies, holders. Mind you the last craft show I did they were others that had bows but I did not know about them ahead of time so I did not think about it. I am planning on giving a free clippie with a purchase and I was thinking of a free basic bow with a holder purchase. What do you all think? Is that too much? I know people including myself love the word 'free'. Also is it too early for july 4rth??? I have some patriotic bows I started last summer & never finished. I could include those and say they are on sale. I also have left over school uniform bows that I will mark as sale items as well. I have been surfing through the post here looking for ideas. This forum is awesome!!! ![]() |
I think the free clippie might be a good idea. People do love FREE!! I wouldn't mark down the 4th of July bows- thats probably going to be a good seller. No one will ever know they are from last year. I probably wouldn't give a free bow with holder purchase because that just seems like too much $ to give away. That's just me, I know there are will be many great post on this!!
I only made 6 - 4th of July things and they sold right away.
Also, at the Walmart by me, they have a fabric section. In that area, there was this plastic tube thing that had plastic rings in it. I'm not sure what they're called. Anyway, I think there were 33 or so for just over $4. I took those, and just heat sealed 12 inches of various colored ribbon and made really SIMPLE bow holders. Those were free with purchase at my Expo. People loved it - and it cost me hardly anything - especially if you get your ribbon for cheap. So I think it's a GREAT idea to give away free stuff! I wish I would have had more free stuff, or at least free with purchase items. |
I did "Buy 4, get 1 free". I gave the cheapest one away as the free one. EVERY single mom bought in multiples of 4.
I did a bunch of inexpensive bows. For one, I can make them more quickly. For two, my area is a bit more thrifty. I found that I could sell a ton of bows at the 4 buck price point. 5 (or more) sounds too expensive, I guess.
Ladies thanks for all the advice! I really appreciate ya'll. I think buy 3(?) get a clippie free sounds good. It's a 6hr/1 day show so I want to entice people to buy. The clippies were so cheap to make. I was determine to use a lot of what I already had to keep the cost down. I found lots of tid bits in my stash good to make clippies with so I don't mind letting some go free. I made a bunch of singles and some pairs but the pairs won't go with the free give away stuff. I am still thinking of book marks if I have time. I just hope I can get my display to look really good.
I'm sure everything will look fantastic!
Another idea - take multiple pricing signage with you. If things aren't selling at your prices, you can always 'change it'. If someone asks you - why did you change it, you can say, 'I always do at this point in the day' LOL ![]() |
