I can't wait to see responses on this. I suggested it to someone who buys bows from me and she thought it would be like a scrap book party where I teach them how. Now why in the world would I do that?!? ANyway I would still like to know how they work and if people actually come to them! Thank you for asking that question!

I do them but haven't made $800!! The most I made at a party was about $150. I give my hosts either 30% off their order or 10% of the party sales in cash.

They have been good cause they get the word out.

Ladies, I have done about 5 or 6. Ask away if you have questions. I have more on the calendar too. They are fun and a nice way to get out of the house and interact with adults!

They do sound like fun. Maybe you could put a list together of how to prepare and hold one. I would be interested in having them in the future

I was in a holiday boutique selling my bows, and one of the vendors in the same boutique asked me if I would like to came over her house to sell my bows. She organized a cookie party so when the moms where shopping the girls were decorating cookies. She organized a great party. I sold $130.00 in 2 hours, and the best thing she didn't take any money from me. When I was trying to give her money she told me Oh no! I did this for you!. I didn't know what to do, so I gave her a few bows for her daughter. I have to say a few of the moms that were there they didn't even stop by my table to see my stuff, (rich ladies), but I think $130.00 in 2 hours is not bad.

I've only done one so far and it was a lot of fun. Several of her invitees ended up not showing, so there were only 5 people there besides the hostess, but I had over $200 in sales just from the few who were there. One of her guests signed up to hostess one this spring and I'm looking forward to it. I hope she'll have even more people and that I'll make even more.

so is it like a tupperwear party where you do a talk about your bows and show your items, or do you just set up a table and people come by to look at them?

It is just an open house. I set up my table and people can come during the 2 hour period to look, buy, and order.

This is how I started. I made up an invitation. Just google "hair bow party" and there are some ideas and I emailed them to my hostess about 2 weeks before the party. She then can email them to her guests or send them in the mail. I started by asking family and friends to host.

I go to the hosts house 1/2 before the open house to set up. I make a TON of stuff to sell so they can take what they want home and order what I don't have. I take color charts, calculator, cash and change, and order forms. I made little pieces of paper for them to fill out with info like name, email address, phone number, and if they would like to host a party. Then they enter it into a drawing and I draw for a free bow at the end of the party.

My incentives for the hosts I said before but I will say again. I give them either 10% of the party total sales in cash (usually they use it on bows) or 30% off their order. Also, if somebody books a future party at their party they get a free bow (after that person has had their party).

Anyway, it has worked well for me and kept me VERY busy during the holidays. I only have 2 more on the calendar right now but have several people who want to host one.

I hope that helped!
