Ever done a show....

Sponsored by the Naval Officers Wives or something similar? There's one coming up in a few weeks, which is getting a lot of publicity. I think it would be a good opportunity, since I have seen Navy wives be extremely competitive about their kids outdressing other Navy kids, like with consignment sales or when the new Gymbo lines come out. But my mom is afraid they wouldn't spend a lot of money, and is nervous about the booth rental, since it's higher than what we're used to. It is open to the public, not just Navy families, but it's right off base, which is a little off the beaten path, if you know what I mean.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a great opportunity. We have things sponsored by the Officer's club and from what I've heard, they're great.

I've done shows sponsered by both the Air Force NCO and Officer's Wives Clubs when I lived in FL. I loved doing these shows. They brought in lots of people and they did buy. I had better shows at the Officer's Wives Club but both were well worth doing. It's been about 10 years since I've done either since I've moved from FL and there are no bases near where I'm living now, but I would certainly do them if I had the opportunity.

First I would ask how many other bow makers are going to be there. I was offered that show a few weeks ago and I am sure the other 3 bow makers at the same show I was at were offered it also.

I did one sponsered by the Officer's Wives Club called Deep in the Arts of Texas (actually my sister did it for me). It is a very long running show and I cleared about $500 after the booth fee.

Yep, we spend lots-o-money at events like this . I'm not a Naval Officer's Wife but am Marine Corps Officers Wife--OOH-RAH

We just tend to spend the $$$ cuz it's usually too dang cute to pass up.

So, go for it. Try to take something different than just plain bows. Give 'em that WOW that they want. Make sure you take lots of Xmas bows to match all those Xmas pics, too.

i say go for it! I was wanting to host one at our reserve center but we are still not sure about it we can or cant do it??? the book says we can but the lady i called said no... well we might just have to do one next year soemwhere else....
