Red face Rose Bowl Flea Market

Hi ladies,

I am really amped to do my first booth and it seems I have the perfect opportunity to do one the second Saturday of December. It will be at the Rose bowl which gets tons of traffic, right before the holidays plus it's in like 6-7 weeks which "should" give me enough time to make everything that I want to carry.

The only downside is that my cost for the booth would be $150. I have never ever done a booth since i'm brand new to this but i feel that i have to jump in sometime. My question to you is if the cost is too expensive or is that pretty normal for big venues? Is 6 or 7 weeks enough time for someone that has a 9-5 job to get ready for this? Right now I have no inventory so i'd be making things pretty much every day between now and the sale.

The $150 booth fee would be cheap for my area for a show with lots of traffic. The big ones here can be $300-400 a day (for the couple of weekend ones I looked at - $600-800 for the weekend!).

Good luck with the show!

I think it is a very reasonable price. If you price your bows right, you will have no problem making that back. I say this often here, but I think a lot of people underprice their bows and don't make as much as they could. I keep my prices reasonable but comparable to what boutiques in that area sell for. I've only had one little old lady complain about my prices (and she was the first person to see my first booth ever!! Scared me at first but I remembered how great my products are!!)

Good luck!

Oh I just might have to join you there! I just saw it come through my email today and am seriously considering doing a show there. Don't worry I don't do bows lol just bottle cap stuff only! Did you get a 10x20 space? Is that why the booth was $150? I could of sworn I just saw that it said 10x10 with room to park a car was $75 so you must of gotten a 10x20 space. If so that is going to be a lot of room! OH now that I think about it maybe it was $75 a day. I'm not sure. I need to check into it. I'm glad you took the plunge, I am still considering it!
