Here's a link that helped me out. I would especially look at instruction #4- this is how to cover the clips. Once you do that you can decorate the bow however you'd like. These instructions also talk about sealing your ribbon edges (to prevent fraying) and how to tie a basic bow.

Hopefully that will give you a start. Really, you just have to bite the bullet and try your first one. It may not come out as planned, but you can always just keep trying!!!!

Good luck,

I agree with Kimberly!

What I did was a TON of research. I would of never of gotten this far without this group. Start small, don't get overwelmed and keep going. I think all of us have horror stories of the "box of horrible clippies" we have made! We all make mistakes, but learn from them.

I am soo excited for you! I was scared at first too- but now I am always excited when everyone talks about new bows.

Amber and Kimberly are both right. You just have to dig in and give it a try. And don't get discouraged if your fist bows don't turn out just like you like them. You will improve over time and practice. There are a few threads on here where we look back and laugh at our first attempts that we were once so proud of. LIke with anything, you will practice, and practice and you will perfect your style. Don't get overwhelmed or intimidated. Just do it!!! And always keep up the search to expand your capabilities through this forum or additional instructions.

Good Luck!! I hope to see some pics of your triumphs soon!!

Some of my best bows are "mistakes"! They turned out totally different then what I was trying to do- but looked great!

Exactly as the others. We have a box of "Bows Gone Bad" that contains those first, second and beyond attempts. But you learn from each mistake, so it's all good. Be patient with yourself. Do try to get some good tools. It seems I have been on a perpetual quest for a good glue gun. I have been through 4 now. My next (probably get this week as I have a gift card from Santa!) is going to be the one Rene recommended, the Aileen's, from Michaels. I think you'll find this a great place to learn and share, because we're all learners and all teachers! Good luck and keep us posted!
