~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do any of you charge more for your items at Craft Fairs than you charge selling online or in person?
Just Curious!
No, I don't. I would hate to get a few customers at the show buy things and then later check out my website later on (where the prices are cheaper). I like to be consistent and credible. I think this would defer future buyers/customers. JMHO.
I agree, I just wondered if anyone does, I ran into a lady at a craft fair who did this, and it seemed weird to me, but I have not been doing shows for a long time, and thought, " maybe its normal " ha.. apparently not
I actually sell some things for a little lower at craft shows, just because the going prices in this area are a little lower than the online marketplace. I think that it keeps local customers happy without helping to lower the prices for online stuff. I know other bow makers hate it when people practically give their stuff away. I like to stay in the median price range as far as websites go - not too high and not too low.
I actually have people come to all my shows for this reason, and I usually mail out a reminder to local customers so that they get a free item if they mention the email or blog post and make a purchase.
I do have a couple of things that are just a little more at craft shows. I'm talking maybe $0.25 or $0.50. I just depends. A lot of my prices are the same as my website though. But you have to think.....you're paying up to $600 for a space at a craft show, sometimes even more. You've got to make that up somehow
Well, one thought we had, (never experienced with it) was that if you are selling online you charge less because of shipping is extra. But by the time the show came around, I thought people would not order online once they saw the price difference. So I kept all the prices the same. The online prices were regular anyways.
