2 day craft show

just finished up my 2 day craft show at a catholic school. I will definetely do this show again - they had great advertising and lots of traffic, not so much yesterday due to the downpour rain but still steady. Definetely noticed people watching their spending due to economy and it effected sales but overall I am happy and I got an order for the school's cheer squad bows!!!!!!!! Right now order is at 10 but it will probably increase to 15-18 since they are still having signups! They are going to be 6" double layer sequin tales down bows. Very excited; woman who ordered them also has connections to a few other teams in area ... keeping fingers crossed!

This was the first show where I had other bow people there - 1 woman only sold lined clippies w/embellishments for infants, another woman was mostly jewelry but had some skinny headbands wrapped in satin ribbon and the last had bows, headbands - not woven, just wrapped and some were sewn like a sleeping bag for headbands, and clips, but her stuff was very old looking - dingy and dirty, a lot was prebought stuff (recognized it) and she was more expensive, ie - $10 for satin wrapped headband 1/2" where ribbon was bunching and gapping. I walked past a few times, didn't talk to her but I received lots of comments from shoppers about my product being nicer - a few bought from her, then saw me and had buyers remorse (some still bought from me too).

Oh, I was approached by a woman who is opening a boutique in the area and is interested in my items - I have to call her during the week to find out details but so far so good!

Sounds like you did awesome! I had a show yesterday at a church. I was the only bow maker there. I had a lot of positive feedback too. I met a really nice woman who made children's boutique style clothing. She asked me if I would want to share booths at craft shows. But, I can't because we are moving in a few months.

You could definately tell people were spending less. A lot of the vendors were talking about it. I was still really happy with how well I did though. That was my last show in the U.S. for a long time. Now I have to pack away all of my craft supplies and close my website for several months. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself.

Yea my 2 day show went well too.. decent $$ IF I hadnt spent it all on a new display... cause all my displays hung from my 10x10 and the space was 10x8... **sigh** ohh well.

there was one other dedicated bow person there and and 2 ppl that had things totally different than bows but also had bows...

but still not too bad
