Does anyone have any experience with these?

I have my first juried show coming up. How strict are they? I'm mostly worried about baby bowbands, the crocheted ones. Will I be able to sell these along side my bows? Or my embellished clippies? Will they pass the jury test?

Thanks for any help

Leanne

don't stress. you'll be fine. with the exception of maybe 2 shows a year I do only juried/larger shows and I've never had an issue with baby headbands or anything of that nature. when you apply don't send pics of those without bows attached to them or try not to send pics of those at all and just send the strictly made by you items. good luck at your show!!

THIS explains it pretty good.... this is one reason a jurried show will only have 1-2 of the same type of thing... you dont end up at a show with 3-5 bow ppl they limit... like with jewelry you still have spots for jewelry will see some shows advertise they but please no stringers... meaning they have enough ppl putting beads on a sting someone do something more original/different materials

I put a clip on one and put it on a baby doll for a display and had no one question me at the juried show I just did.

Hope that helps and good luck.

Juried just means they review your product and either allow/not allow you in. Sometimes show management will walk around and spot check booths for non-declared merchandise.

Don't forget that most shows are not strictly handmade events. Many are "gift markets" and there is plenty of resale merchandise. This is entirely normal.

If it's a strict craft show, that still doesn't mean you can't use some pre-fabricated materials. You are using it to make something else (fre-fab headbands with a bow you make attached). It's still handmade, even if you are using some starter materials.

Hope that helps!
