Propay - call or internet?

I've read all the old propay posts and know a lot of people signed up for propay for their recent fall shows. Did you just call the numbers in from the show or write all down and enter at home? Which is most efficient? I'm really interested, but need expert opinions. Any advice?

write it down on a carbonless copy receipt book and use the internet when you get home. Super easy

the # on the back that people always ask for?
zip?
Phone?

We actually bought a card imprinter thing (that's it's official name too) off ebay. Similar to this. It has our name plate that goes on it with our info. We put there card in and click, click, it imprints. We right items/amounts on it and get # on back, have them sign. I feel it's a little more professional than just writing it on a carbon sales receipt. Yes, zip is good to have but they will go through without it. HTH

If you use PROPAY the minimum requirement is:

total amount of purchase
cc number
expiration date
zip code

You can collect other info such as the 3 digit code on the back of their card, phone #........

I personally just collect the necessary info + get their phone # and have them sign it.
I do agree having one of the card imprinter things probably looks more professional but it's not necessary. If you want to spend the money on it than I'm sure it's nice to have.

Ya know, with all the electronic swipeys out there now I bet a lot of people have the knucklebusters collecting dust in attics....
Why don't you check your local Freecycle group?
Chances are pretty good that someone has one willing to part with instead of it lying somewhere slowly being forgotten LOL.

I also hava a card swiper I got off of ebay with an imprint plate. I swiper the card and just get their phone # and zip code. When I get home I put the info in online. Never had a problem and it is super easy. I love it!

That is what I intend on doing but my DH thought that people would be uneasy with that. Did anyone ever have that problem?

Nope! Never had one question. I love it and it is soooo nice and easy and professional looking!
