Hi ladies, I was wondering if you give receipts to your customers and if you write in detail what bows/clips they bought?

I have a show in November and I just really want my transactions to go as fast and smooth as possible, as I'm the only one that'll be there. No helpers.

Thanks gals!

If your the only one, that may be too much to do.

If they pay by cc than I give a receipt but only with the total and the pertinant cc info I have collected for propay. If they pay with cash or check I don't give a receipt unless they ask for it. I add sales tax to every transaction. I keep a calculator with me to help add sales and taxes.

I've seen other crafters that use a small cash register that prints receipts if you wanted to go that route.

I write out receipts w/ a short description usually abbreviations, ie - 1/2" m2mg petite mademoiselle whb = 1/2" made to match gymboree petite mad. woven headband. This way I can track what is selling and keep my inventory numbers straight. I use a carbon receipt so they get white copy, I keep the yellow. It also, IMO, is more professional.

I personally think that it would be too time consuming. My husband and I "man the booth" and sometimes we need 2 or 3 more people.

I do for orders that I do out of my shop, but not for shows. I write all of the inventory down before I go and after the show, I highlight what I have left. THat way, I know what sold and what didn't for my next show in that area. HTH!
