~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I got invited to do my first craft show. It is called a "holiday showcase" at the beginning on December for 2 days. It costs $20 plus they want 15% of what I earn. Do you think it is worth it? It is at somebodies house in a nice neighborhood. I don't know how many vendors there will be, but they are limiting it to 2 vendors per category so there won't be too much competition. Like I said, I have never done one before. Do you think I should do it?
If this is a first, I'd consider it. The prices are reasonable. I'd do it! Good Luck to you if you do!
Thanks! I think I will do it. I haven't really tried to do craft shows yet. It just stresses me out trying to find them. Every single one is overloaded with bows and too much competition drives me crazy.
Wow. It all sounded normal till you said it was at someones house. I know some churchs ask for a percentage back. It would be good to get your name out there and get some new customers....
BUT it sounds like a shady way of the hostess to make some money with little to no effort. Normally when I have done bow parties, the hostess will get free bows from me, but I have never had to pay them or give back a good chunk of MY profit.
Is this an annual thing? Do you know if alot of people attend? It sounds weird to me but that is just my opinion.
i hate doing shows where you give percentages. Simply because it gets so confusing.you get a number which identifies you/your booth. You have to make receipts of all your sales with your number/item and amount and to top it off most of the time ive done them you dont deal with the money they do. They send you a check a few weeks after with how much you sold.
I would say get more information on how everything will work.How will you keep track of what you sell and if you will be handaling the money or they will.
