There is a huge Christmas craft show in my town this weekend. I am wanting to go just to get booth ideas. Do you do this?

I'm sure I will forget what I like so I thought about taking my camera and snapping shots of things I really like. Do you think I should do this? I could write down stuff, but I will have three kids with me, one being in a stroller.

I just want color ideas and cute ways of displaying things.

Thanks Sarah! You changed your picture!!

I have a digital camera, so I thought I could do this with out lots of stares. I could zoom in if need be. Click....keep walking. None of the crafts at this show would be something I could do myself. No time or desire. HA HA

After you have the kids back in the car- you could write down what you saw. Also- some people have brocheures..so look for those

I would LOVE to go to some craft shows. My biggest thing about shows lately- I want to know how much traffic they get. The last show I went to had really low traffic, and that hurt my buisness.

For exp.- You can take a small christmas tree and decorate it in bows or clippies all over?..(i saw it in photobucket)

OK!! I went to the craft show. This was Christmas Made in the South. This is a large craft show that is in many Southern states. Huge huge crowds!~

Well, when my daughters and I first walk thru the gate I see two huge tents a lady has set up selling her bows. Since this is a "Christmas" show I wasn't sure if hair bows would be sold or not. Only two vendors sold bows at this event. After I visited both booths, I was on top of the world!!

Why??? The bows these ladies were selling were the WORST I had ever seen. Even my children commented on how bad they looked and they are 10 and 11. My 10 year said "Gee, this lady went crazy with the glue gun!" She had so much glue showing on her bows. There were even glue strings stuck all over the bows and her bow cards. Neither ladies lined their clips. They added the bow centers then just stuck an alligator clip under it. NOT even glued to the bow. I took the bows off of the cards to examine them and the bows came off in one hand and the clip was stuck to the bow card in the other. All I could do was stand and laugh!!

I could go on and on about how bad they were! The lady with the booth as you walked in probably sold more than the lady indoors. The outdoor lady had solid brown (5/8 ribbon) bows with a pink covered button center. The centers had letters monogrammed on them. These looked like her top sellers. She had solid pink also, but the brown looked like it was selling better. I was happy that neither ladies was selling anything that we make. No headbands or clippies.

If you need to feel good about your bows, go visit a craft show. I think we are getting some really good instructions on this site and that is a good thing for us!!

Well, that's all I guess. I can't wait until April when I get to have my first big show!
