~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had a 2 day craft show last weekend and another 3 day show this weekend. I have a ton of stuff but I'm always wanting to make more. There is never enough time in a day. My itty bitty clips sold really well last weekend so I've been working like crazy to make more. My finger tips actually hurt. Here is a pic of the ones I've done in the last 3 days. This isn't even all of them. I'm lining them up to be starched. And then off to be finished. lol
Anyway just thought I'd share and see if anyone else feels like they never have enough!
Wow! You sure have been working hard! I don't even do half the amount you do and I feel so overwhelmed with the amount of work I have. I have hundreds of things on my list to make and a TON of supplies that haven't even been opened yet...
I understand how you feel!
It's good to know that I'm not alone! lol I guess I start making something and then I think I better make a few more cuz if they sell and someone wants more I want to have it on hand. I need to realistic though. I started making 6 of each color then I started doing 12 and then dropped down to around 10 of each color. Oh Boy!!!!
okay I would love to make some small bows like the ones you made. Which bow that you made? I have all kinds of instructions but I don't have one that small. You are right making stuff really hurts your fingers. Mine is bottle cap necklaces and making bows using the gator bite. Pulling the thread so tight.
Thanks,
Teresa
I feel the same way! I will stay up almost all night the night before a show making bows...I'll make bows that I think will sell & for some reason...those are the ones that don't sell out! My hubby always tells me that customers will not miss what they don't know should've been there! Best of luck!
Ohhhhhhhh!!!! I know the feeling!! I made like I dunno- 80 of those bows for the last show. I have about 40 left- so not going to make any more. BUT- yikes!
When I am arranging my tables for the show- I am thinking the whole time- I should of made more of this.. now.. I thought I had more of that!!
wow thats alot! What I try to do for solid color bows is make 3 in each color, size and style. I usually do pinwheels and boutique in 3 and 4" and then baby boutique like the ones you have pictured. Then once you are done with that, you move on to other things. It;s not all about quantity as it is quality and variety. You can always take custom orders if you run out of the colors.
When you are pretty much finished with what you plan to take, you can always go back and make more, but at least you have all the colors/styles made already in case you don't finish.
You should always make a list before the show with what you want to take. Then the night before take inventory of what you actually are taking. Then after, take inventory again, and see what sold. File it away on a word doc or on paper somewhere with the dates of show, name and location and total fees and profits. That way you will know for next year what to expect. Remeber the more detail you give, the more info you will get out of the show.
If you notice a certain style not selling, cut back, it you notice a certain color is always selling out, make more next time.
I don't think you can ever be totally ready because you can always make more or think of more things to take. So you just have to sit down and plan it out and you will be fine.
