Do any of you have insurance for your business? I would like to apply for a few festivals and they require insurance. I'm beginning my search!

I don't have it but I think about getting it constantly. I just don't want to fork over the money. For me through Nationwide it would be about $500 for a year for a million dollar policy. It's such a sue happy world and it's terrifying to think that anyone can "trip" or get hurt inside your 10 x 10 spot and take everything you have. I think one of the main things (besides the $) keeping me from getting it is that I litterally have nothing worth someone sueing me for LOL! Well, they are free to take my cc debt or house payment I guess

The craft show I normally do every year but am not because I'm doing another one started to require insurance. I checked and for a $300,000 policy it would have only been about $22/year.

When I looked into mine it was for insurance on if someone were to sue me and some on my products in case something would happen to my house. It was about $300 for a year so about 25/month. If you are selling a lot, I would do it.

Thought I would update - I have not received the official quotes yet but I was told by both agents that some companies will not insure people who sell items for children. I'm looking at general liability insurance for shows and bow parties. I was told by the agents to see if I can get a rider on my parents home insurance policy to include coverage on my stock.

Wow, that surprises me! Both of mine knew exactly what my products were and didn't say a thing about not insuring for children's products. One was local and the other was American Family Insurance who has a local agent.
