It all depends on how you access the website!!!!
No kidding!

If you google and hit the site from a regular "listing" - then you get the higher prices.....

If you google for propay and hit the site through the very top "sponsored" listing (it's highlighted in pink on my puter), you'll see the lower rates which will allow you to take AEx, too and process over the phone!!

Try it! I just signed up for them a few weeks back (for the low rate) and told my g/f - she couldn't get to the low rate for the life of her!! Took us about 1/2 hour of digging and searching etc. until it hit me! LOLOL
Soooo.... google for ProPay, and click the "sponsored link" at the very top of the page!

Exactly what Sabine said! I actually went through a link on the Etsy forums and got the $29.95 rate. Someone from Propay actually posted it and said it was a special rate for Etsy sellers.

I just renewed my plan yesterday and it's still $29.99 for the year and you can process Visa, MC, Discover and Amex.

I know there's SOME way to incorporate them into the site but I haven't figured out how (I use Zencart and would have to do the coding myself LOL).... I just use PayPal for the online processing, fees are almost the same - even a bit lower than ProPay

Ok, after reading this thread earlier I signed up for propay. I've been doing craft shows for a couple of years now and I never wanted to take credit cards before because of the fees. Then I got to thinking that every transaction I get off my website I pay paypal fees for. Hello! So, I've got a big show this weekend and will be using propay for the first time I hope my sales increase!!!
