My girlfriend just posted this on her facebook page and sure enough I have an old Ipod nano (1st generation nano). Guess who's getting a new nano?!?! I'm going from a 2GB to a 8GB for FREE!! Thank You Apple!!

Hmmm I'm reading up on it now and people are saying they are getting the same verizon that they had before, nothing different except its new or refurbished. I guess what sounds too goo to be true always is.

If you live near an Apple store, keep it in your purse so you can drop in next time you are near it. I'm betting if you take it to the Genius Bar they'll replace it. Unfortunately I'm not near one but I'm putting mine in my car so I won't forget it next time I head that way.

I think I'll give Apple a call too and see if they do it by mail. I have one and don't even use it now that I have an iPhone but one of my kids would appreciate it.

Within a couple of days of filling out the online forms... UPS dropped off a brown, pre-paid envelope & instructions to return it. It's a win win for me as the battery won't hold a charge anymore. So I'm good with what-ever they replace it with. I'll be sure to post what kind of replacement I get as soon as it arrives

I just filled out the form for both of ours and they both qualify. One is dead and the other works.

Guess what came today?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!? MY NEW 8G Nano!!! Yep, I sent in my old one as per the recall and I waited a whole bunch of weeks but then this package arrived from Apple and low and behold a little square 8G ipod.

So if you haven't checked out the recall~ do so! They don't fix the old one.... they send out a new 8G one
