~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As some of you know I get bored easily and cannot make the same thing over and over! LOL
I came up with this idea because my friend needed a cute little gift for her daughter to take to a party.
These little lunchboxes are so cute!!!
I have added fabric, a cute bow and put her name on it!
She can use it for all kinds of things, her 'treasures', her hair bows, little trinkets or whatever.
I think it makes an adorable gift!
Now she has me making a boy one for her nephew so he can use it for his little matchbox cars...It will be a cute boy design and also have his name on it.
So, what do you think??? Would these be something you would like to give or receive as a gift??
Think I should put them in my etsy store??
Can you take pics of the rest of the lunchbox? Are they the standard metal ones or the zip up insulated lunch boxes. I think they are cute, metal would be ok for nic nacs but insulated would be a must for lunches. Also is the it regular cloth or oilcloth that can be wiped down. My daughters bag is fabric and I have to scrub and wash it regular and the oilcloth would be great since it can be wiped down. These are just my thoughts...
to answer your questions...
They are metal. They are not necessarily for "lunch" They are not insulated. They do not zip, they have the regular snap closure. I think they are designed more to be used to hold trinkets etc, rather than food. I've seen them used as purses also.
The fabric is put on and treated so that it can be scrubbed if needed. It has a special coating on it.
They are small, not the size of a regular "lunchbox"
I called them lunchboxes because that is the name they were ordered by.
i think its a really good idea, one problem though. if you post them on etsy people are gonna want them cause they are different, so.... your gonna have to make them over and over and over again! lol just teasing, i have the same problem, i have like 20 different projects going at the same time and it seems as if i come up with something new everyday and get sidetracked so in all actuality i get nothing done! kwim?
I would list it as a trinket/knick/knack box. I would use them to store their ponytail holders and such. I think that they are too too stickin cute. Dang, another thing I need to order.
Oh Leatrice you are right! LOL
But I'll make them for a while then quit!!
Couple of weeks ago I was making these fabric cases for the wipes. Not baby wipes but the ones we carry in our purses.
I made and sold over 40 of them! When I was tired of making them I stopped and found a new project!
Here is a picture of those....they make a really cute gift too.
Great idea for the title Mindy!
They look like a lunchbox but it wouldn't fit much more than a sandwich! LOL
I'm going to finish up the boy one before I list any tho.
Did you use the Cricut or Sizzix for your letters? I can't remember which one has that font. I think it is Sizzix. I have to go to my room to double check.
BTW...your little project is adorable!!
