I love that dress, too cute! I love the buttons though too. I've noticed a lot of people attach the buttons to pony o's. They monogram them too.

I do these on pony o's all the time! They're great! It's the only way I can get my 8 year old to wear her hair up. She says she's too old for bow mom! lol

I scored some of the uncovered buttons yesterday at the thrift store. Now I just have to figure out what I want to do with them

Is there a machine that makes the buttons or do you embroider your fabric and glue it onto a button? I'd love to see a tutorial. I'm pony O challenged although I can embroider beautifully.

This is what the covered buttons look like before they're covered. http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.j...&source=search They're super easy to use. You use the template on the back of the box. Put template on your fabric, cut it out, place fabric and domed part of cover in the little button tool, gather fabric, place back on button, push with tool....presto! you've got a covered button. If you want to make it a pony o, before you put the back on, take out the little metal piece on the back with a needlenose pliers, slip pony o inside, replace little metal piece, put on back of button and you've got yourself a covered pony o. My instructions are probably clear as mud! LOL I'll see if I can find a tutorial.

this one she shows how to attach the pony o after she made the button. This is what I do for my kids, it's quick, it's easy.....BUT if I'm selling them, then I take the time to take off the little metal piece and put the pony o in. It sits nicer and allows you to move the button after you've got your pony on.

Thanks guys. I made the dress and the bows. My girls got their pictures taken in them the other day and I can't wait to get them. I do covered buttons all the time on clothes so I thought, why not put it on the bows. That way it could match their dresses. I used Dritz covered buttons but I just got some today from jcaroline creative with flat backs on them so I am going to use those on the next headband I make.
