~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't want to cause any problems but as I sit here trying to make bows, which I love to do, I realized that I am afraid to share with you what t I have made. It never use to be this way. I admit that I have looked at someones bow and thought WOW that is way cute and then try and create it myself. I know that this is a grey area here and that everyone has a different opinion on what is right. Who is to say which one of us is correct, since if you ask each of us we all would say that our own opinion was right. I just wish that we could all just continue making bows, sharing advice, sharing ideas, without fear of being accused of stealing ideas. If you think about it people copy ideas since we have millions of different kinds of books, lots of different cars, and several brands of cereal. It happens. Boy I wish we could share ideas without offending anyone. I would like to say that I have learned alot from many of you and look forward to the ideas and advice that is yet to come. Over all this is a great forum. Thanks for listening.
I agree with Stacy as well. One further point is that is when people have conflicts maybe they need to express these through PM's or do it in ways that don't make others feel so aweful when reading it. I firmly believe that we can all have different opinions, values, ideas etc., but handle ourselves with dignity and treat others respectfully. JMHO My husband works with over 100 women in one building and they have an operating agreement that says if you have an issue with something/someone you have to check it out with them using the phrase "I need to check something out with you" What he has found is that 99% of the time a misunderstanding has occured and everything can be patched up through simple talking. Okay off my soapbox now....just thought that information might help anyone (by the way my husband and I use that all the time with each other and it really does work)
Thanks Sarah,
I finally had something worth contributing.......although a bow idea would have probably been more helpful ha ha!
This is great. We are all trying to find ways to keep harmony in our little group. To bad there was not like a million dollar reward for finding the greatest idea to solve this problem. Boy, what I could do with a million dollars
First off, I have no clue what's going on - apparently I missed some drama, but that's fine with me. I have enough drama in real life, lol.
It's a hard decision to share things. I went through this too since as far as I could research, I had some ideas that were quite original. In the end sharing won out.
I suppose I still have a lot of faith in the human race and continue to have hope that people will be honest and not try to cash in on my ideas since I do my very best to be creative and not steal ideas for profit. Sure, there are things I've copied (and credited) for my own two girls, but I'm just not into stepping on someone else to make myself successful. I love sharing my ideas because I know that 99% of the time people take my humble contribution and kick it up a notch, which in turn inspires even more people.
Personally, I LOVE when people share pictures, etc. I may not copy them, but it's still really fulfilling to see the creative world evolving.
Lol! Those 4 posts were put in while I was typing, being interrupted by kids, typing, being interrupted again, etc.
Lol!
