do you use a piece of glass as a ruler? never thought of that!

I do mine on a baking sheet My woodburner is MIA right now though! I have a back up that is lost as well rofl! I used to use the glass, but i was always afraid that it would get broken, as my little helpers tend to drop things! haha great pics

If...and that's a big IF, I'd done it right, the text would have come through. I'm about ready to jump out of our bedroom window after doing the photobucket thing (don't get too nervous, we only live in a ranch style house!) I actually wrote on the bottom of the top layer of glass with a sharpie the measurements....in 1/2" increments. I did this after trial and error...the first 60 or so clippies I did with the writing on the top of the glass. Learn from my mistakes...sharpies do wear off after repeating rubbing, as in ribbon sliding back and forth. Apparently the only thing sharpies are definitely indelible on are walls, kids hands and ribbon. Anyway, the whole cutting and heat sealing in 1 step works well for me....just not posting the pics for it!

I know what you mean about the little helpers. Everytime my granddaughters come over I guard my dining room table like a soccer goalie. Something always seems to disappear, though! The pics, though....that's a whole story in itself. I must have redone everything 5 times. Sad part is my DH just got laid off from a division of Kodak, where he worked in IT. He sat right next to me and 'helped' me. Hmmmm....now I'm beginning to understand the laid off part! Just kidding! Maybe.....

WOW Kudos to you! I remember when I first used a wood burner. LOL. I burnt more holes in everything around me than I sealed ribbon. Great technique! Thanks for sharing.

OMG what a great idea. A cookie sheet! I've heard people use a coffee mug instead of the woodburner holder too. I need to jump on the woodburner bandwagon...

Do they make cordless woodburners??? Off to go Google it...

hahaha that is so ME, ive burned holes in so many ziploc bags and other things around me. I never notice until i start smelling something weird and look up to see smoke...I havent burned myself YET though!
