Default Baking korkers in Summer

Has anyone ever tried baking korkers in those those roaster ovens? You know, the ones we use around Thanksgiving because there just isn't enough room in one oven for everything that needs to be cooked at the same time? I thought this might be a really good idea for several reasons:

1. You don't heat up your house any more than it already is
2. Little if any chance of scorching
3. You don't have to stop to cook dinner (lol)
4. You can take it to craft shows to do custom corkers! (*added 7-18-09. Thanks for sharing princessfancypants!)

Anyone care to share their experience? I think I'm going to go dig mine out of the attic and try it out...

Search for a link from princess fancy pants, she did it, and I think was taking it to craft shows to do there in case she got a special order.
I'ts been in the last few weeks that she posted about it.

What did she call the roaster oven? I did a search for roaster oven & got nada. I'd be interested to read about it.

OK, I found it. She called it a roster oven. That is why I couldn't find it. Sweet! She says it works great.

I really didn't remember what she called it, but I thought you could maybe check her posts. I remember the poster, not the information. Glad you were able to find it. Are you gonna try it? Let us know what you think about it, and also do you have to line the roaster with foil?

I have tried and PrincessFancyPants is right it works!!!! It is perfect for me as I work out of my bedroom. Now I don't have to drag all of my korking supplies downstairs to the oven. It still gets a little warm in the room but not near as much as when you are running an oven. The only thing is that I had to buy more dowels to cut shorter, mine are all 18" and didn't fit so great, so I bought more and cut them down to 12" and they work perfect. I have had 36 dowels in at a time and it works great.

Do you lay them on top of each other and the colors don't bleed onto the others.

I would NOT lay them on top of each other. Especially if you starch before you bake. You could do layers with tin foil between though. If you do lots and lots of layers,I imagine the temp might not get warm enough in the middle.

Yay! My dowels are 12"! Glad they'll fit!
