Default Spray painting alligator clips?

Has anyone ever tried spray painting an alligator clip? I'm thinking I might try it because I don't enjoy lining them with ribbon.

I dont think it would work, I think the paint would stick together while drying and you wouldnt be able to open it... have you tried to use the double stick tape everyone uses..? its soooooo easy, they had a buy a little while back and it is AWESOME and literally takes like 2 seconds to line.

Don't they make special paint for metal? I might still check into it. I'll keep you posted if it works or not.

You could spray paint the clip and then clear coat the clip. The clear coat is what prevents it from chipping. HOWEVER!!!!!! THIS SHOULD BE A BIG NO NO!!!! Remember the whole new child safety law!??!! Personally, I dont think any mother would want to purchase a bow that has any type of paint on it!! AT ALL!!! Sorry!!

Couldn't they be painted the same way that a bottle cap is? I imagine it would be tricky to do because of their shape. Maybe paint the pincher part first then clamp it open once that paint dries and do the prongs next?
