Default Help with Velvet flowers

I purchased some beautiful velvet flowers and cant get a rhinestone to stick on it for the life of me! I have tried hot glue, the velvet part pulls right off with the stone, I also used e6000 and the same thing happened, only the glue got all kind of gummy..

Is there something else to try or something else I should be using......

I sometimes feel like I failed gluing in grade school!

I am not familiar with the velvet flowers, would love to see a picture.
But I found that the best way to glue a rhinestone to velvet is by using a hot fix tool , I have the Bejeweler brand.

I have velvet flowers and I just use the hot glue gun, they stay put for me. Maybe wait until the glue gun is really hot and then try it?
Sorry I'm not much help.

I haven't worked with velvet flowers, but I did glue some rhinestones to a velvet lined clip a few days ago. I used E6000 and they are holding quite well. I even pulled on them and tried to pry them off. You said the glue was gummy. Did you wait 24 hours for it to completely dry?

I second the hotfix tool - it works well for me on velvet. Otherwise, is there a way you could burn away the little bit of velvet (maybe using the fine point of a woodburning tool) where you plan on sticking the rhinestone? More time-consuming, but it might help...

Thanks so much, I might have to invest in a hot fix.

The velvet is so pretty but useless when the stones pull right off.

I've always done high-temp hot glue, then stuck the whole flower/hairbow right into the FREEZER, to really set the glue. seemed to work pretty well...!

Try Jewel It glue. Its made for rhinestones and crystals. You can use it to adhere them to dance costumes and they stick even with the stretch fabrics. You need to let it dry and use just enough to hold the stone in place so that it doesn't come up the sides.
