Default Selling single ribbon?

Ok, here is my question.

Where I live, tons of teenage girls like to wear a single ribbon in their hair. However, it trully pains me to look at these ribbons these girls wear.

They look like they either found the ribbon on a package or they have had it for years! The ends are NEVER heat sealed and the ribbon quality is not the best.

So my question is.... Do you think I could sell single pieces of ribbon. The ends can be cut and heat sealed and sold in the colors the girls like to wear the best!

Just wanted to get some input from you all!

I think you could, and the double ruffle too! Thats what the girls here wear, at an accessorie store here they sell a yrd of DR for 3.50 and its all frayed at the end!! I know they get it way cheaper than that.

I have heard of people selling the ribbon for $2 for a single strand around ... can't remember how long, but it was kinda long because the girls in texas wrap it around as many times as they'd like.

I agree, a teen model would help sell it on etsy

Great idea, then you could could sell it in a 'collection' like fall, pastel, bright, holidays....Just dont price it too high b/c mom's will think- "Well I'll just go to Hobby Lobby and buy it myself..." That is why all the ribbons you see are all tattered! Good idea.

Another great seller for the tweens in my area- a simple, classic premade bow on a pony but it is shaped properly w/ nice loops etc. It looks like they 'tied' it but we know it is attached to a pony or clip.

OH!! I know what you mean!!! Was it wrong for me to almost whip out a lighter at Walmart yesterday to fix a little girl's bow? LOL!!

I think this is a great idea. I may have to do something like this with the school colors. (cuz Amber..they say.. we can't ever find the RIGHT colors!)

At my last craft show I had teenage girls asking for that. i explained to them that I would heat seal the edges for them so it wouldn't fray and sold them for $1.00 a yard.

Thank you all for your advice! I would probably only do this locally, not on Etsy. I would probably sell more as a home town thing. Our school colors are maroon and gold and local craft stores do not sell this color ribbon. So at football games, you see all kinds of crazy not quite right colors.

I wouldn't charge more than a $1.00 a yard. I could just take them to games and sell them right to the girls. They always have atleast a dollar!

I'm just trying to do my part to get rid of those ratty ribbons!
