the magnet holds to the top of the alligator clip. there is a cool tute somewhere for babies with little hair. you can "make the clip" out of ribbon and put velcro in the middle. no pieces to swallow or fall off. its here if you search for it!

When I worked at a Mother's Day Out program we used the magnet tape. It wasn't strong enough to hold anything heavy on a fridge but it did work to hold small things together. I worked there over 3 yrs. ago and my son made me some artwork and the magnet has yet to crack. So I don't think it would do any harm. As for the choking, It is tape and I would think you put it on the clip and then line it so I don't think it could come off.

i bought one not long ago and she uses the strip. Yup I was the stupid ass that paid 7.99 to take it apart. Now - she may also use the round magnet but on the one I had it was the strip.
