Default Hair accessory fundraiser??

we are looking at doing this w our youth girls who are headed to a mission trip this summer... using this idea, I made a few sample flowers with satin ribbon, melting the edges a bit over a candle to create irregular "petals", as well as the center - to give it a natural "pinch", and they are SO cute!! (pics coming soon!)

what I am wondering is: have any of you done a hair flower/bow craft event with several people? do you have any advice for me on how to make it run smoothly? i.e.: what should I do ahead of time - cutting, supplies lined up, print out instructions, etc.? I will welcome anything you have to say! thank you!!

If I read your post correctly, the girls are going to be making the flowers at the event, correct? I would say that getting as much done ahead of time will make the process smoother. Cut put patterns, have printed instructions, etc all seem like great ideas.

I would be worried about kids using a candle though. A lot of fabric is highly flammable and you could burn someone. Is there another way of making these that doesn't involve open flames? Just something to think about.

I don't know if you have already done your fundraiser... But.... We did flip flops one year for a fundraiser.

It worked out great. We packaged the flip flops, materials, and preprinted instructions in bags. That way 1 set of flip flops was together with instructions/ supplies, etc.

We did nort get together to make the flip flops ( they were water balloon flip flops)', we handed out the supplies and everyone brought them back when they were done.

Our supplies were super inexpensive and we had a great profit margin, they were so cute they sold fast!
