Default Which Heat N' Bond to use?

I used Heat N' Bond Ultra on ribbon to adher them together, but the ribbon was so stiff I could not gather it together at the center. Should I use a different HNB for ribbon and use the ultra for just fabric?

I would suggest lite, and just iron really well to make sure the layers are secure

BUT - if you already have the ultra, and are like me - got stuck with 4 packs of the super tough hem kind and had a big order due the next day, try this:

Keep your iron/ironing board nearby so you can do a quick press of the iron where you're about to fold and sew, the heat it makes it soft and pliable just long enough to crease, sew, and wrap

Hope this makes sense!

Here's a pic of some over the top cheer bows custom ordered by a local dance school:

I have used all types like Sheila said just warm it up a bit before you fold and it should soften up enough to fold I have trouble with the lite I have to,really make sure it holds so I like ultra.

You can also hit it with the hairdryer in the center before you're ready to crease it....

I never do well with this :/ even blasting with my hair dryer, ultra still hates me and the only "lite" they sell here is the sewable kind, and I'm PRETTY sure that might be even worse...

I believe you can order the lite Heat N' Bond online. I buy it when it's on sale so that I have it available for Cheer Bow season.

What are you guys doing with it ? I mean ... I have made what I thought where cheer bows, But now you are doing all these fancy things to it.. I would like to do them right if there is a special technique to it. Is there an alternative to that glue ? Where are you putting it ? Anyone have a Good Tut that can be shown ?
