For things like this, it is perfect. I also use it for individual bows...I DO NOT use them on team bows. If you do, you have to be very careful with your placement. You can only put the know at the top end of the bow towards the front and cover it up properly; otherwise you run into an issue where the know is towards the back and if someone catches a flyer and the accidently hit her in the head, it is possible that the know can cause serious injury......so please be careful and if you are just starting out, I will not chance it at all. It does take "know how" to place it in the right place and cover it up properly and still have a great looking/professional bow. Good Luck!

Thank you for the info! Then oh no I am not using the tie .. this is for a competition. I got the order because I am a Volunteer EMT and one of the girls sister is the coach for the team. I do not want to mess this order up. What about craft wire ? (it's very light)

IMO, I would stick with embroidery thread and needle. I still fold the old way. Front first, then back. i have modified my method over the years, but still love the way my loops sit up nice and tall.

I have teams that are on their second or third year using the same bow for competition. I have never used the plastic wire ties, but I would avoid any metal whatsoever.

HTH!

I do not use zip ties. They make the bow heavier and they have a tendency to fall out in action. Plus, I feel my loops look better. I use the same method as gmcks2001, she is my mentor in a way
