It took me awhile to get used to my wood burner, but now I use it everyday. I use the tip to cut and seal ribbon at the same time and I use the barrel to seal the ends of the ribbon when I cut with scissors. It really is worth the investment. I make a lot of puffs and I can cut the pieces so much quicker now that they are heat sealed too!

Hi again,

When cutting tails at an angle do you fold the edges on top of each other and cut with the burner? I ask because I've had a few edges become glued together :-/

I agree. My wood burner is my BFF in my crafting room. Don't know how I made bows without it!

considering the NBNG one. Has anyone ever seen a V shaped end for a woodburner. That would make it quick. For those who use the wood burner and NBNG guide or some other guide.... does it burn through layers and material? I heat seal mine but am noticing the ends fraying after awhile? wierd...

I have the cutting edge from NBNG and their cheerbow tutorial. It's proven to be very helpful in learning what to do.

Hey all, Hopefully the newbie can help answer some of your questions on the woodburner. I have been using one for about 4 years now....yes the same one. And it is my BFF as well.
Yes, it does cut through multiple layers.
Yes, it will seal all edges cut together. So, you do not want to use it to cut the V shape in your tails, it will seal them together. Cut you V as you normally do with your scissors, then run the woodburner down the cut sides of your V.
It is fantastic for sealing the ends of your keychains especially if it is fabric covered.
Good Luck
