Interesting.... I had to google it after your comment. Here was an article on setting dye: but it says it only works in natural fibers (and it includes salt!)

I also found this info interesting: which says salt will prevent the fabric from repelling the dye.

I wonder if salt in with your vinegar/ water mixture would decrease risk for color transfer...
