Your flower looks great. I had to watch the beginning at least 20 or more times. Instead of twisting in the beginning like she does to get the center bud, I do it a different way. I was getting too confused. Like you said, the key is to turn and twist.

I bought ribbon from HL while it was on sale to use as scrap ribbon before I started purchasing the more expensive ribbon. Fabric is another great alternative for these roses.

As for the glue, I kept burning myself and using too much in the beginning. But the more I practice the less glue I use and can get through a rose without burning myself. Another alternative is to sew the rosettes, but I like the glue better.
