I haven't used my Cricut yet, but is it b/c the mat needs to be really sticky? If so, maybe try some Stick & Spray or a sticky adhesive. Here is the link and a video about the product. I've never used it, but saw it in a video about cutting fabric with your cricut. I'll post both links. hth
