Default Re: HELP! Can I make my own ribbon from fabric?

I think it depends on what you want to do. Making a puffy fabric bow is super easy and the instructions are here somewhere. Basically you sew a rectangle of fabric on three sides. I'm not good at explaining, sorry.

Have you thought about experimenting by either sewing a long strip like a sash and ironing it super flat to be used like ribbon or maybe fusing 2 strips wrong sides together and sewing a decorative satin stitch on the sides or doing rolled hems on each side of a single thickness strip? Just a few ideas. I don't know if 2 layers would be too bulky or it would be worth the time to do rolled hems on each side of a 1.5 inch strip or something.

Let us know how it goes.
