You know when you use thread, you tie it the first time, then it gets loose as you are looping it to tie your next knot.
Some of my bows I sew with upholstery thread and others I tie with crochet thread. I can do both with the gator bite. It has a great hold and I can get my bows nice and tight either way with a nice crease.
