On picnik I just choose text, type the name, then leave the font white and fade to 50%, done. If you put it on the edges, ppl can still crop it out of the pic. A label can be manipulated in a couple of minutes by anyone with photoshop. Your work is really cute, I'd want to protect it as much as possible.
